OpArt Lofts

QR form

OpArt Lofts, Oakville’s first loft residence, is set to reshape how “postmodern” Oakville’s built form can be. The 10-storey, two-tower, retail-at-grade development is designed with the 1960’s OpArt Lofts Movement in mind, flawlessly mixing stark white exteriors with seemingly random arrays of glass and black mullions. To say the least, OpArt is a work of genius.

OpArt Lofts will offer 188 modern loft residences to Oakvillers, with 10-foot ceilings, convenient and relaxing amenities, and sophisticated interior design. Designed by Stephen Teeple of Teeple Architects, with interiors by Cecconi Simone, the structure is rooted by a two-storey podium, with two loft towers rising a further eight-storeys on top.

OpArt Lofts will be located in the heart of the rapidly-redeveloping Kerr Village near the city center, just a stone’s throw away from Oakville GO Train station. Additionally, countless shops, restaurants and amenities are located nearby, with more on their way — as the city invests in new ventures in urban design and growth. Another new condo project, Rain, by Empire Communities, will rise immediately south of OpArt.

Priced from the mid $200,000s, OpArt’s 188 loft suites range from 440-sq.ft. to 1,172-sq.ft. for three bedroom lofts and include full sized kitchen appliances and spacious bedrooms, tailored for the Oakville purchaser with an appetite for design.

The Carlaw Condos

The Carlaw Condos is STREETCAR’s latest and most ambitious development coming soon to Leslieville in downtown Toronto’s east end.

The Carlaw Condosis a 12-storey mid-rise Condominium building located on the north-east corner of Dundas and Carlaw in the heart of the Film District. The Carlaw Condos will offer over 300 lofts plus 21 townhomes, including studio, one, one plus den, two and two plus den bedroom lofts, ranging in size from 400 sq. ft. to over 1,000 sq. ft.  Prices will start from the low $200,000’s.

Head-turning architecture will soon invigorate the corner of Carlaw and Dundas Streets in Toronto, when Streetcar Developments introduces The Carlaw Condominiums. Sophisticated modernism sets the tone for this intimate new 12-storey residence. Innovative architecture features crisp angles, curved columns, a rooftop terrace and powerful perpendicular projections – all framing 320 lofts. The condominium will be anchored by a central courtyard that is part of a 25,000 sq. ft. indoor/outdoor event space. A rare find in a residential building, this attractive venue will be available for a multitude of functions for the neighbourhood and the community beyond.

Rethinking. Urban Living. is evident at The Carlaw Condominiums from the ground up. The ground floor will encompass one of the city’s most vibrant indoor/outdoor venues. The combined space of the inside venue and outdoor courtyard measures nearly 25,000 sq. ft. – a rare feature in a residential building. The flexible interior venue space can accommodate large open-concept events or be divided for smaller, more intimate functions. The entire facility spills out onto the courtyard and street-friendly outdoor spaces along Carlaw and Dundas.

This stunning multi-purpose space will be available for use by area residents, businesses and groups, as well as those in the greater community, to promote culture, the arts and entertainment. Inside, bold columns, polished stone floors and theatre-style lighting combine to create a celebratory environment that is as comfortable and inviting as it is striking.

Programming for this special space may include everything from art shows, festivals and fashion shows to theatre and music performances, a hotspot during Nuit Blanche, or film festival events – a major draw in this area, which is home to many film studios. Locals will enjoy easy access to the classes that will be held here, such as photography, cooking and fitness. The possibilities are truly endless. As The Carlaw Condominiums mantra goes, “This is your stage.”

One of The Carlaw Condo ’s most charming elements is the inviting outdoor courtyard at the centre of the L-shaped condominium and townhomes. This landscaped, treed area is highlighted by a reflecting pool, benches and views that carry through the glass-walled lobby and fabulous inner event space on the ground floor. An alfresco extension of this multi-purpose space, the courtyard lends itself to everything from quiet mornings reading the newspaper and enjoying a coffee under a shade tree, to serving as a spot where events held inside can expand into the outdoors.

The inner event/courtyard area can serve as a forum for corporate and community events, as well as film festivals, which is appropriate in this exciting film-oriented neighbourhood. During the spring, summer and fall, the courtyard itself may be used for a farmers’ market, performance art and just about any fair-weather gathering.

On the 11th floor, The Carlaw Condominiums’ unique rooftop oasis includes a cabana-inspired indoor lounge where the gang can chill with munchies and watch the game on the big-screen TV. Sleek, modern lines and contrasting textures create the ultimate urban atmosphere. The outdoor sundeck is literally steps away, which is perfect for entertaining friends and family in a breathtaking setting. Discover lofty living at its finest at this indoor portion of the rooftop – the ultimate social hangout in the sky.

The Carlaw Condo ‘s unique rooftop terrace and lounge spans the south elevation of the 11th level. The outdoor sun deck features contemporary loungers, barbecues and dining tables. In this perfect relaxation/entertainment spot, residents will be able to drink in the sun’s rays, flip some burgers and dine alfresco with guests, all surrounded by panoramic city views. From here, it’s an easy stroll to the indoor cabana-style area. This unique amenity space in the sky is sure to be a favourite spot for hanging out with neighbours and friends.

707 Lofts

Builder’s Description: Bloorcourt Village embraces its rich ethnic mix to create an inviting neighbourhood of endless lifestyle possibilities. It’s here, where Dovercourt meets Bloor, that Enirox Group are creating 707 Lofts — a loft-inspired condominium residence, where thoughtful design and utilization of space allow for great comfort and luxurious living.

Price: From Just under $200,000 with upto $10,000 in cash back. Please call me for floor plan and price list.

Located in Bloorcourt Village, 707 Lofts is expected to offer true loft designs and a maximization of living space. Tact Design will be designing the interior of the building. The company has designed Market Wharf Condominiums.

The future lobby of 707
Lofts.

For those unfamiliar with the area that 707 Lofts is located, Little
Italy and Bloorcourt Village are right on the development’s
doorstep.

Little Italy, of course, really needs no introduction. Some of
the best restaurants, shopping and nightlife in the city are located along
Little Italy’s College strip. But you probably knew that already. However, what
you may not have known is the incredibly diverse Bloorcourt Village is one of
Toronto’s up-and-coming shopping districts.

The Village is a rich ethnic
mix that will expand your mind. There are many Ethiopian restaurants that are
well-worth checking out. Ever tried Wat with injera? No? Well you should, it’s
awesome! Also located on the Bloorcourt strip are some excellent Portuguese,
Greek and Korean restaurants and shops.

A rendering of a suite in 707
Lofts. We’re digging it for sure.

Another attribute
that really stands out is the number of parks in the neighbourhood surrounding
707 Lofts. And we’re not
talking little parkettes that are basically just some grass and a bench, these
major green spaces include Christie Pitts, Dufferin Grove Park and Dovercourt
Park. To the north, to the south, to the east, there’s plenty of park to go
around.
